Staff Operations and Training Specialist

Summary.
About the Position: This position is with the 63rd Readiness Division (DIV(R)), Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC) located at Moffett Field, California. Responsibilities.
Serve as a Staff Operations and Training Specialist providing technical advice and guidance on training plans and programs. Coordinate command training exercises and plan Battle Assembly Training. Conduct training on the use of the Army Training

Requirements

Reporting System (ATRRS) system to command staff. Manage an education program for military personnel utilizing military occupational specialty (MOS) and determining unit requirements. Review and analyze training plans and provide recommendations for improvement. Prepare implementing instructions and command directives for distribution to the units. Establish priority and commitment of resources projected and available for personnel, equipment, and facilities. Research historical data and analyze potential influences to determine budget projections for unit and individual training. Prepare financial reports for consolidation with command budget. Experience

One year of specialized experience which includes interpreting operation and training directives to ensure program compliance; making recommendations for unit training and operations to maintain readiness status, and applying budgetary procedures to manage training resources. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR

Education

Ph. D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Organizational Management and Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, and Management.

Experience

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management.

Writing Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
