Space Programs Architect

The Space Programs Architect will provide systems architecture and engineering support to the Space Force's Special Programs Directorate Warfighting and Tech Futures Division (SPF) and the Architecture Branch (SPFA), which is responsible for the strategic planning and analysis in coordination and integration of all the programs within Special Programs. These programs include the Geosynchronous Space Situational Awareness Program (GSSAP), the Deep-space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC), the Counter Communications System (CCS), among many others in the areas of space domain awareness (SDA) and space control. The successful applicant will provide experienced guidance and support to SPFA and SPF leadership in the development and execution of strategic planning, analysis and assessment of future programs and capabilities, coordinate these activities with other organizations at the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) and with external government partners and provide subject matter expertise to programs as needed to assure successful delivery of an integrated space enterprise. This position requires some travel. Key Functions.
Provide space control expertise in support of SPF's Architecture and Strategy mission: Prepare, review, and execute Space Control technical efforts.
Generate and provide strategy recommendations to solve difficult space-related problems.
Lead mission analyses, requirements development, system concept evaluation, and enterprise risk management activities: Derive analysis plans to resolve critical architecture questions.
Lead teams to deliver technical solutions on program-relevant timelines.
Perform analysis, tool development as appropriate.
Devise new methods of solving complex problems when other fail: Regularly interface with customers and collaborate with program office support staff.
Mentor junior Space Force personnel as they rotate into SPFAIntegrate into diverse teams of military, FFRDCs, UARCs and contractors.
Coordinate with colleagues across Aerospace to serve as a space domain "backplane"Qualifications.
RequiredB.S. in engineering, science or related technical discipline.
Minimum of eight (8) years of related experience.
Effective written and oral communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customer, colleagues, and contractors.
Demonstrated experience performing space system-related analyses.
Demonstrated ability to identify and assess risk areas and to work closely with technical staff and program office peers, customers, and contractor personnel to resolve issues.
Current Top Secret and SCI clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance Ability to obtain additional security clearances.
Ability to travel up to 25%Preferred.
Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, or science.
Familiarity with space domain awareness, space control, command & control, and SMC/SP programs.
Demonstrated organizational and project leadership skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
Experience with Model
- Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering (DE)Current access to one or more SMC/SP programsPHYSICAL
