The Accelerator Process Development group at Pall specializes in designing, optimizing and transferring scalable processes from pre-clinical to validated cGMP ready manufacturing. As a key member of the analytics group, the Scientist II will be responsible for providing technical and scientific support for development of gene therapy and biologics related analytics. This individual will contribute to various cross functional teams ensuring a smooth technical transfer process from/to external sites. The Scientist will interact extensively with clients as well as internal departments within the company including the upstream and downstream teams as well as R&D, applications R&D, automation etc.

Responsibilities

& Accountabilities: Provide routine analytical supports to enable PDS project progression and work with technical teams to interpret results in a timely fashion Contribute to the tech transfer and optimization of analytical methods for in-process sample analysis, especially to gene therapy-related cell-based assays to support upstream and downstream process development Participate in project related teams and other internal collaborations Support analytical data collection and analysis from the other operators Troubleshoot routine technical challenges and contribute to their resolution Analyze and communicate analytical results both orally and in written reports to colleagues and management Maintain precise, timely and clear experimental activities in laboratory notebooks and internal technical reports Contribute to equipment maintenance, laboratory set up and organization and ensure a safe lab environment with personal accountability Other duties as assigned Qualifications/Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in biochemical engineering, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related discipline. 2+ years of relevant experience in gene therapy or biologics assay execution/development.

Experience

Excellent bench skills with attention to detail and high standards for data integrity and quality Strong understanding and hands-on experience of mammalian cell culture processes for cell-based assays. Hands-on experience on analytical techniques such as qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, TCID50, plaque assays are preferred. Hands-on experience on analytical techniques such as HPLC, UPLC, FACS, and Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) are a plus. Proven record of successfully planning and executing projects and experiments. Ability to work in a Biosafety Level 2, follow safe lab procedures and maintain good laboratory practice (GLP). Experience or knowledge in execution and management of process technical transfer and assay development for gene therapy or biologics products. Competencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work under minimal direction and operate within a collaborative environment. Strong facilitation skills to collaborate with all levels of the organization and build relationships. Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organization goals. Ability to deploy problem solving skills using thorough logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
