Responsibilities

The goal of the Regional Educator position (in collaboration with Home Health Leadership) is the successful on boarding of home health new hires across all regional branches. The position is designed to provide coordination and connection between the field preceptors, new hires, and branch leadership. Key job responsibilities for this position onboarding new hire employees in regional branch locations in collaboration with subject matter experts and ensuring proper training of new clinicians. The position will perform some the global formal class and simulated lab education. Key measures of success for this position are: new hire turnover rate below set target, clinically competent and Electronic Medical Records competent new hires at end of four month orientation (as defined)Essential Functions and

Job Responsibilities

Along with subject matter experts, develops global on boarding classes and simulation lab scenarios for new hires based on identified business needs Provides educational leadership to enhance specialized patient care within established clinical protocols Assists with educational needs, problem resolution, and health management across the continuum of care Collaborates with medical providers, patient care staff, and Home health management in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula Assists with clinical skills development programs within the parameters of established clinical and preceptorship models; monitors trends and implements educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters Provides direct specialized nursing and therapy services to an assigned group of clinicians, providing specialized patient care within nursing protocols and assisting in the performance of all related nursing duties Develops patient care plans, incorporating evidenced-based research and national standards; consults with and serves as a clinical resource for unit management to ensure quality patient care Educates technical and patient care staff in the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments; coordinates in-service training and workshops for appropriate staff Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Along with other educators/facilitators, performs global classes and simulation labs for new hires Evaluates efficacy of the formal classes and simulation classes to ensure it is meeting results/goals Determines with preceptors, Home Health Leaders, and branch leadership additional training needs of new hires Collaborates with branch leadership in assessing, implementing, and evaluating new hire and preceptor progress toward goals Facilitates quarterly preceptor forums for continued preceptor feedback, to provide mentoring and preceptor education Facilitates regular new hire evaluations to monitor progress of and feedback from new hire class Identifies concerns with new hires and communicates these to Home Health Leadership, Lead preceptor, and branch leadership Acts as a positive role model or preceptor for team members new to home care and/or new to our company Assists with appropriate compliance with regulatory agency requirements, both state and federal Participates in clinical process improvement teams and benchmarking activities as assigned Participates in the development of program changes, including recommendations for obtaining more efficient outcomes; ensures follow through on practice changes relevant to the role under the direction of the Clinical Support Manager Participates in select data collection as requested to track and trend program success, intervenes to affect a change in program content/delivery Demonstrates ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient care Functions within the Scope of Practice and the Practice ActQualifications.
Competency, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge and understanding of clinical protocol, procedures, and standards within area of home health clinical expertise Administer therapeutic nursing care; instruct, motivate and assists patients in managing their health status Knowledge and ability and the necessary skill and judgement to perform all procedures as outlined Ability to provide operational guidance and leadership to technical staff in area of specialty Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements Ability to assess educational needs and design and develop responsible curricula Working knowledge of the use of established clinical and preceptorship models in the development of clinical education programs Advanced clinical skills in area of specialty Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care programs Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups Ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Word and Power.
Point Solid ability to learn new technologies and possess the technical aptitude required to understand flow of data through systems as well as system interaction.
Education and

Experience

Requirements: Associates degree in Healthcare Related field from an accredited or approved school, Bachelors preferred Two years of work related experience in home health or similar setting Must have a valid clinical license from the state in which he/she would be practicing Must have a valid and unrestricted driver s license Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification.
