Program Manager, AWS Outposts Labs

S cloud services can now be deployed in any physical location, including directly in a customer s datacenter. The impressive expansion of new IT opportunities that Outposts provides for AWS requires us to accelerate solutions development and testing activities. The Outposts Labs Program Manager role will manage a network of Outposts labs, coordinating access across partners, customers, and internal stakeholders. Position Overview

- Market Team is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, data-driven, entrepreneurial Program Manager (PM) to focus on the management of the Outposts Test Labs program.
AWS Outposts provides customers with an exciting new option to extend the AWS region including various AWS services directly into their datacenter or colocation facility, to solve for specific needs around latency, edge computing, or data residency. Outposts provides a 100% consistent experience for customers in terms of APIs, operational best practices, and via single-pane-of-glass management. We ve implemented testing labs, to support activities related to legacy application migration, for validation of partner applications, and for validating Outposts behavior related to networking, DR, and hybrid workflow design. This individual will help launch and scale the program, coordinate the intake and scheduling of new test activities, work with dedicated technical support resources for execution of testing, and drive closure of follow-up actions with account teams and APN partner managers. The ideal candidate will be versatile, comfortable with ambiguity, able to arbitrate amongst conflicting priorities, and will be driven to generate net-new revenue opportunities for AWS Outposts. Although dedicated technical support resources will be provided, the Labs Program Manager should have a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, the relationships between software, servers, storage, and networking, common cloud-adoption obstacles, and what it means to deploy a complete IT solution . The ideal candidate will bring relevant experience, superior judgement, great detail tracking and follow-through, and strong problem-solving and communications skills. The right candidate will bring a proven track-record managing customer and partner-facing programs and the ability to earn trust and work effectively with cross-functional and cross-regional teams, demonstrate proven track record of discovering and applying insights toward creating new mechanisms that help build and scale the program, and will always roll up the sleeves to get things done. Being able to translate your skillsets into a customer-obsessed, data-driven Amazon culture, and operating effectively in a fast-moving cross-functional environment to drive clear outcome and results is key to your success in this role. Responsibilities will include: Working closely with BD to refine, document, and educate Test Lab stakeholders on procedures, qualification criteria, technical capabilities, and to set expectations for lab projects; Assuring proposed projects meet onboarding qualifications, with complete test plans and success criteria definitions, and test feasibility validated by technical teams; Work with BD to Evaluate and communicate priorities amongst diverse customers, partners, and internal users based on business opportunity, technical requirements, escalations, and labs availability; Monitor testing in-progress, providing white-glove support for stakeholders to assure efficient execution of test plans; Track, communicate, and drive closure of committed post-testing deliverables including order entry, referenceability agreements, publication of reference architectures and benchmarking studies, and qualification into specified APN programs;Provide subject matter expertise on Outposts testing and the Outposts service offering in general. Basic qualifications Good understanding of application architectures, including servers, storage, networking, infrastructure elements such as access control, encryption, and account management, and solution-level elements such as disaster protection and resilience strategies. 5 years of program management experience, working across diverse teams. 5 years of experience writing documents and narratives; experience presenting in executive level meetings. Preferred qualification An understanding of the complexities of IT solution testing. An understanding of enterprise cloud adoption obstacles and strategies. Good knowledge of AWS services and cloud computing in general. Understanding of common enterprise workloads and how they vary in requirements. Experience dealing effectively with internal and external customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure. Demonstrated ability to act with a sense of urgency, balanced with diplomacy. Thrive in a fast-paced environment, able to navigate changing priorities and ambiguities.
