Merrimack County 4-H Program Manager

Position Details

Long Classification Title Campus Location Durham Department UNH Cooperative Extension Youth and Family [UXYTFM] Summary of Position This position is based in Merrimack County, New Hampshire with an office in Boscawen. Facilitate the growth of the County 4-H program and life-skill development of 4-H youth through recruitment, training, support, and guidance of volunteers in a community-based, youth organization. 4-H, the nation's largest youth development organization, works in local communities to offer youth online and in-person programming through clubs, collaborative community partnerships, after-school programs, camps, and or other educational activities. New Hampshire 4-H programs are designed around a 'pathway' model centered around National 4-H mission areas of STEM/Agriscience, Civic Engagement, and Healthy Living. 4-H Pathways are designed to engage youth in a sequential learning experience, enabling youth to build mastery of skill and knowledge as well as a sense of belonging to their community and world. As part of a County Extension team, this position may also be appointed in the future to serve as the County Office Administrator, which would be a 20% appointment with a stipend (programmatic workload will be reduced to accommodate this appointment). Responsibilities

Job Duties Duty/Responsibility Volunteer Development and Support: Recruit, train, guide, & support 4-H volunteer leaders to support program outcomes, to ensure risk management, and to ensure the programmatic involvement of under-served and under-represented audiences such that all educational programming must be conducted in full accordance with civil rights, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action (AA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) policies and procedures. Percentage of Time: 40% Duty/Responsibility County 4-H Program Pathway Development and Delivery.
Support, organize, plan and coordinate county-based entry-points and follow-up experiences for youth and families along 4-H Youth Development pathways. Includes being responsive to local participant needs and concerns. Collaborate with 4-H Field Specialist for program pathway development, implementation, and evaluation. Percentage of Time: 30% Duty/Responsibility State 4-H Pathway Team Support.
Serve as member of a specific program pathway's State Team to assist with the development, organization, planning and coordinating of a specific pathway's state-wide events and activities. Pathways include, but are not limited to:
STEM/Agriscience, Civic Engagement and Healthy Living. advisory group for input and pilot of key pathway experiences. Percentage of Time: 10% Duty/Responsibility Program Reporting: Support programs by tracking enrollment information, coordinating evaluation data collection, completing timely reporting, monitoring 4-H club finances, and analyzing program effectiveness. Percentage of Time:5% Duty/Responsibility Professional Development: Identify individual professional development goals and seek training in subject area expertise and essential skills, such as group process, volunteer management, facilitation, and organizational skills. Percentage of Time: 5% Duty/Responsibility Other Duties as Assigned.
Includes projects or committee work as needed. Includes local county Extension office work (e.g., engage with Advisory Council, engage local legislators/stakeholders, and participate in staff meetings and projects).
