Principal Electrical Engineer - Space Systems Group

SNC's Space Systems is looking for an energetic and innovative electrical engineer to support our expanding efforts in both manned and unmanned spacecraft. Candidate will design and develop rugged, high reliability electronic equipment for use on spacecraft with applications that include servo mechanisms, electro-mechanical systems, power management, communications, telemetry and health monitoring. This individual will create conceptual designs, perform circuit analysis, developed detailed designs, oversee fabrication and test of development equipment and participate in reviews with customers and suppliers. This individual will coordinate with procurement and production personnel during design and fabrication to develop an effective design for both performance and manufacturability. Candidates shall have experience with electronic design and analysis software (Pspice, Simulink), Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power.
Point. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and possess an understanding of a broad range of electronics, including system level applications. An understanding of electronics integrated into electro-mechanical systems is desired.

Learn more about SSG httpswww.sncorp.comcareersspace-systems Must haves Supervisory experience is a must Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and 14+ years of experience Support and mentor Electrical Engineering team through the development of spaceflight electronics Working knowledge within the space community and electronic design requirements Knowledge of interface and design documentation such as interface control drawings, functional block diagrams, and schematics PCB design, layout, and fabrication documentation skills Knowledge of FPGA development processes Experience problem solving for new electronic product designs and as well as existing products Originate specifications, drawings, control documents, verification and validation plans, procedures, reports, and other documentation in support of design and development activities Strong understanding of Space Flight Requirements associated with Electronics (EE parts selection, worst case analysis, derating, etc.) Assembly, test, and maintain circuitry or electronic components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals and knowledge of electronics Design and develop electronic units from concept, qualification, and delivery Preferred Proficiency with simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry Experience composing and analyzing Electrical Load Analysis (ELA), circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis Familiarity with design requirements related to High Intensity Radiated Field (HIRF) and Indirect Effects of Lightening (IEL) Knowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles, to include, but not limited to model-based definition, electrical component selection, manufacturing, and production processes Understanding of Electro Magnetic Effects (EME) to include, Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture Understanding of the printed circuit board layout process and tools Space flight electronics design experience preferred Motion control electronics experience desired The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.
