Post Production Engineer

I.

Job Summary

| Major goals and objectives. Meredith National Media Group Video division is seeking a Post Production Engineer to join the engineering team that maintains video workflow and manages its post production technology. The ideal candidate will understand and provide day-to-day technical support to a large post production environment across multiple locations. This position will report to the Technical Manager of Video and will work with other engineers.
II. Essential Job Functions Maintain post production facilites and technology across all office locations (NY, LA and AL). Provide Tier II & III support for internal brands and teams. Manage contracts and relationships with vendors. Creation, administration and enforcement of policy for media asset management, file lifecycle and technology.

Education

You have a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Experience

5+ years working at a major studio, network or post production facility. Experience in production and post production workflows including custom MAM, SAN and DAM workflows are strongly preferred. Experience with Cloud or hybrid post environments AWS experience is strongly preferred. Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Expert understanding of media asset management systems (Evolphin Zoom, IPV, Cantemo, etc). Understanding of non-linear editing, video effects and color correction including Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects and DaVinci Resolve. Knowledge of archive systems including Masstech / SGL Flashnet, AWS (Snowball and Glacier), StorageDNA, and Spectra.
Logic. Knowledge of video transcoding systems including Telestream Vantage, AWS Media.
Convert and Adobe Media Encoder as well as video codecs and formats. Knowledge of Storage Area Networks including Quantum StorNext. Knowledge of Bash, Python and Ruby scripting. Understanding of accelerated file transfer solutions including Aspera and FileCatalyst. Understanding of file/folder access and administration through Windows ACL through Active Directory and POSIX file permissions. Understanding of Mac OS X, Windows and Linux. Understanding of MSSQL. A hunger to streamline processes through innovation. Have a proven track record of starting, participating, managing and finalizing projects. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and extremely detail oriented. Ability to work with other IT departments across Meredith. Ability to work under tight deadlines within a corporate organization. Often times, it may be required to work in off hours when the systems are available for maintenance or upgrade. % Travel Required (Approximate): 10%
