Network Operations Engineer

POSITION

SUMMARY:
This network operations engineering position will work in our Network Operations Center. This role will be responsible for Network LAN/WAN, load balancing support and management, enterprise monitoring, multi-factor authentication and single sign-on. The Network Operations Engineer will guide and work alongside our Help Desk engineers to maintain and address daily Network Infrastructure needs. Additional responsibilities will include performing the Technical Support Administrator role as required.

DUTIES

AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyze, monitor, and configure network infrastructure. Identify and implement system adjustments and improvementsAct as network monitoring lead providing subject matter expertise for Solar.
WindsPerform regular maintenance, patching and upgrades, performance monitoring and tuning of Network equipment.
Monitor incident queues and respond to issues raised by automated alerts, support team members, and end users.
Responsible for network vendor management, open support tickets, and hold vendors accountable for delivery of requested services.
Troubleshoot network problem issues (in person, by telephone, or via remote access) in a timely and accurate manner and provide customer assistance when required.
Provide Tier III incident and problem management support to Service Desk by providing prompt response to trouble tickets. Work with appropriate engineers, support personnel, and vendors to resolve issues quickly.
Perform system administration procedures, adhering to Winston and IS network and security policies, procedures, and standardsAs a team member of the NOC, the candidate's responsibilities will include day-to-day tickets and support, participation in On
- Call rotation, and documentation.
Provide weekend and after hours support as required by the position BASIC

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or 5 + years equivalent work experience requiredAt least 3 years of experience with Routing and Switching design, configuration, implementation, and support required OTHER

REQUIREMENTS

Understanding of routing and switching protocols including but not limited to:
BGP and Spanning TreeAt least 3 years of experience with ASA and Palo Alto Firewalls: configuring and troubleshooting access rules, site-to-site, and remote access VPN'sAt least 3 years of experience with multi-factor authentication and single sign-on systems, such as OKTA COMPETENCIES:

Winds, Firewalls, switches, Active Directory, MFA & SSOKnowledge of LAN and WAN technologies, MPLS, and ISPsMicrosoft, Cisco, or VMWare certifications preferred Problem Solving
