Ministry Associate For Outdoor Worship Service In San Francisco

- Civic Center San Francisco Night Ministry The Ministry Associate for Open Cathedral
- Civic Center co-facilitates outdoor ecumenical Christian worship services on Sundays 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM. The service is held in the UN Plaza of San Francisco Civic Center. Following the service is a lunch, open to anyone, regardless of whether they attended. The Associate helps to plan the liturgy and lead all aspects of the service, including community worship and one-on-one pastoral care. The Associate also helps to coordinate with local churches to rotate the meal donation and schedule. The Associate would attend and co-lead at least 2-3 services per month, and take the lead whenever the Director of Community Programs is absent. This is a part-time employed position; ordained clergy may receive a housing allowance. Seminarians may negotiate an internship status or academic credit with their schools. Candidates must commit to the position for at least one year after a month of training. Specific Duties: Attend and co-lead at least 2-3 Open Cathedrals per month, Sundays 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM. With the Community Programs Director, create and execute a vision for the shape of the Open Cathedral
- Civic Center program, evolving over time. Communicate effectively and pastorally with participants, staff, volunteers, and community partners. Help organize weekly meal donations from Bay Area congregations and coordinate the lunches calendar. Help maintain and coordinate supplies and the SFNM van used for Open Cathedral. Drive the van to the location in the absence of the Director. Seek support, outreach, and networking to diverse and wider communities. Create, approve, and/or maintain the appropriate community program s policies and procedures, in consultation with the Director. Attend staff meetings called by the Community Programs Director. Provide monthly information or written reports to the Community Programs Director. Contribute content to social media, e-blasts, promotions, website, and newsletters. Speak at churches and civic organizations in order to raise awareness about the particular community program and/or Night Ministry. Other tasks as directed by the Community Programs Director.

Qualifications

Bay Area location Excellent Communication and Ministry skills Ability to self-motivate as well as work with a team Ability to hold space for loving community, including appropriate boundaries Attention to detail, accuracy and organized; punctual Experience in congregational contexts CPE experience; chaplaincy experience preferred Preferred: Seminarian - or
- Ordained or commissioned in a religious or spiritual tradition, or equivalent level of practice in a ministry leadership role or chaplaincy Bilingual Spanish
