Lead Software Engineer

Will design and build APIs and microservices for the cloud platform central to an eCommerce business in Beaverton, OR. Will provide technical leadership to ensure software is of the highest quality and meets all deliverables within the constraints of demanding schedules. Will shape the technical vision and deliver systems that serve consumers worldwide. Will lead and participate in design sessions and work with product teams to drive clarity on requirements and craft implementation plans. Will encourage innovation by learning new technologies and creating prototypes to share new technical approaches with the team. Will provide guidance and mentorship to teammates and colleagues. Will advocate technical direction, define best practices, inform team principles, and evaluate technical decisions and their impact on the architecture. Will develop technical architecture and implementation for high scalability, high performance, and high availability. Will participate in Scrum or other Agile processes with the team. Will contribute code to the team s business deliverables. Will develop software libraries and utilities. Will design RESTful APIs, lead design sessions, and help create implementation plans. Will resolve technical issues and remove blockers for the team. Will evaluate technical decisions and their impact on the architecture. Will design and run performance tests on individual components and entire systems using tools like Gatling Hive. Will work with distributed systems in a cloud-based environment with high transaction volumes. Will practice full DevOps by deploying code through the CI/CD process to production and monitoring service operation. Will support services during on-call Pager.
Duty rotation. Will instrument service metrics and logging and create monitoring dashboards in tools such as Splunk and SignalFx. Will engage in five percent or less domestic and international travel.

Education

Bachelor s degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering.

: (1) DevOps; (2) Amazon Web Services; (3) Java; (4) monitoring and observability tools, including SignalFX, New Relic, and Splunk; (5) software testing frameworks and tools including Junit, Mockito, WireMock, RestAssured, Hamcrest, and Spock; (6) continuous integration and continuous delivery; (7) develop highly scalable distributed systems in the cloud and performance test using tools including Gatling Hive; (8) highly scalable NoSQL datastores, including DynamoDB and Redis; and (9) designing, developing, and testing microservices.
