Assist in advertising open positions in appropriate channels as directed. Percentage of time 40 Duties/Responsibilities.
Hiring Proposals:
Prepare hiring proposals for submission in UGA
Jobs Help to draft appropriate documentation as necessary including salary actions and justifications for salaries outside allowable percentages.
Assist candidates with background check requirements/questions related to background checks. Percentage of time 30 Duties/Responsibilities.
Onboarding:
Assist in preparing offer letters for distribution to selected candidates.
Assist in hosting initial onboarding sessions to enroll staff in Kaba timeclocks, complete I-9 verifications, etc. Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities.
Other:
Assist with job fairs.
Promote Division as a great place to work.

Qualifications

Position Summary.
This position assists with the administration of the Auxiliary Services Division Human Resources office, and is responsible for tasks related to hiring such as posting positions and creating hiring proposals with input from leadership.
Ultimately the Hiring Assistant will help the Hiring team to ensure a positive candidate experience that meets the Divisions hiring needs. Work is performed in accordance with policies, rules and regulations and with considerable independence of action on routine matters. Minimum qualifications may be defined by the department based on the responsibilities of the position. Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Positionprevious HR or data entry experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, web-based platforms and able to easily train on new programs or systems.
* General office

Telephone, Office Machines, Typing, 10 Key by touch and strong organizational skills.
* Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to analyze and interpret data and provide technical advice and guidance in relevant Human Resources disciplines.
* Problem solve and propose viable options for solutions.
* Compile information, prepare analytical reports, create, compose and edit written manuals and employee correspondence and prioritize workload.
* Able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Physical DemandsWork in an office environment; accessing UGA facilities, intensive computer work, filing, standing, walking, climbing stairs and occasional lifting, bending and squatting 8 hours a day/5 days a week.
