Summary
POSITION
SUMMARY:Rogers State University is seeking applications for a full-time faculty member in the Health Science department. The faculty member's primary responsibility is to teach assigned courses in accordance with the course description and syllabus established by the faculty and administered by the academic department head. In addition to teaching, other faculty assignments include instructional development; academic advising; program, departmental and university committees; and service to the university and the discipline. The faculty member receives general supervision from the Department Head, Health Sciences.

Experience
General:oPresent evidence of two (2) years of teaching experience (highly preferred);
oDemonstrate three (3) years of increasingly responsible work experience or samples of scholarly work;
oDemonstrate continued clinical competency.
Nursing:
oPresent evidence of current practice with a minimum of two (2) years full-time equivalent practice as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting preceding the first date of first employment as a teacher (minimum requirement).
CPR Training (Clinical Faculty Only):
oPresent evidence Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training at the Health Care Provider Level (nursing) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Adults, Children, Pre-hospital) training according to specifications and discipline (EMS).

- General: Master's degree in teaching
- Nursing: Master of Science Degree with a Nursing Major (Minimum BSN with 6 credits per calendar year toward a Master of Science with a Nursing Major).
- Emergency Medical Services: Hold a valid unencumbered license to practice as Paramedic in the State of Oklahoma.
Licenses and Certifications

- Nursing: Hold a valid unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma;
- Emergency Medical Services: Hold a valid unencumbered license to practice as Paramedic in the State of Oklahoma.
Essential Duties
PRIMARY
DUTIES
- Instruct, supervise, and evaluate students as agreed upon by faculty members within each discipline according to licensure and accreditation requirements and legal and ethical principles. The standard teaching lead for full-time faculty at Rogers State University is thirty credit hours or the equivalent per academic year. Overload is limited to six credit hours during the academic year;
- Promote safety for the student and faculty member and patient as applicable;
- Update and revise course content and teaching methodology in order to maintain currency and relevance according to the curriculum plan;
- Provide an updated syllabus (or segment of a syllabus if team teaching) according to the curriculum plan at the beginning of each course to all students and to appropriate offices within the university;
- Maintain familiarity with current texts, instructional materials, teaching aids and techniques relative to courses within the discipline, and recommend their adoption when appropriate;
- Actively seek ways to improve instruction;
- Maintain attendance and scholastic records as appropriate and submit required reports;
- Provide advice &/or assistance to adjunct faculty in regard to course content and instructional materials;
- Advise students concerning their program of study and course enrollment;
- Clinical Faculty: Post and observe five office hours outside of clinical per week for purposes of planning, academic advising, and student consultation. No- clinical Faculty: Post and observe 8 office hours per week. Hold office hours at times that will be most convenient for students and meet with students as needed by appointment;
- When appropriate, help establish field-application experiences for students in a given program and work with supervisory personnel to coordinate student field experiences;
- Actively participate in discipline, department, and university committees;
- Actively participate in assisting the university to maintain standards required for accreditation. Participate in full academic regalia in official graduation ceremonies;
- Work with library staff in the selection of print and non-print materials for collection development;
- Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge and competence (and applicable licensure) in the appropriate academic disciplines;
- Contribute to and participate in faculty development programs;
- Participate in community activities and services;
- If licensed, immediately report to the Department Head any complaints against his/her license, or any event that could impede re-licensure;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Head, Dean, Vice
- President or President.
