Sr. Director, Corporate Content & Social Media

Reporting to the VP of Public Affairs, Corporate Communications, this individual will lead the team responsible for creating compelling corporate content across the company's owned channels, including and all corporate social media. The person in this role will oversee the team that is responsible for shaping the internal and external narratives around the company's brand, in close partnership with our therapeutic area communications, community engagement and corporate giving teams. Essential Duties and Job Functions.
Lead a team of four people responsible for creation, publication and distribution of diverse, representative and high-quality stories for the newsroom, company intranet and social media. Partner closely with media relations, corporate communications and cross-functional public affairs team to create best-in-class content that highlights our brand and shapes the internal/external narrative about our work. Manage group with responsibility for the company's digital platforms, including external website, intranet and all corporate social media channels. Ensure that the team is executing against an editorial calendar that is designed to reflect events and trends, externally and internally, locally and globally. Collaborate with media and analytics team, to understand how our content is performing and most appropriate channels and tactics to reach key audiences. Amplify newsroom content through earned media in partnership with media and analytics team. Provide input to ensure corporate narrative and brand are well represented in all content. Partner with external agencies to ensure editorial guidelines are reflected in content. Work closely with employee engagement team to ensure that we are telling positive stories, internally and externally, about Gilead's culture. Knowledge, Experience and Skills.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Deep understanding of paid/organic social media and public relations.
Demonstrated track record as a people manager with an eagerness to develop, support and grow individual team members.
Ability to develop analytics frameworks that help teams understand data and how it impacts communications efforts.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and agencies.
Demonstrated success in managing multiple, high-urgency projects simultaneously; flexibility is essential.
Strong project and budget management capabilities.
