Cook Classification: Non- Exempt Department: Dietary Reports to: Dietary Manager
Position Summary
The position is responsible for preparing 3 meals per day including meats, vegetables, and desserts; cleaning pots, pans and work areas, and working tray line duties. Essential Functions/ Area ofResponsibilities
This job description is not intended to be all inclusive and must perform other responsibilities assigned. Positive attitude Cook meals so that they are served within schedule meal time timeframes. Ensure proper handling of food Ensure food is cooked to proper temperature and record all temperatures. Record temperatures on freezer, walk-in cooler, and charts all food Use and clean equipment. Set up and serve food on the tray line. Avoid food waste by calculating amount of food required. Organize and clean work areas (sweep and mop floors, take out garbage, etc.) Set up diet cards for residents.Education
Requirements: High school diploma preferred Experience/Skills Needed: Must be familiar with basic principals of nutrition as related to menu planning and modified diets. Physical Demands/Working Conditions: Lifting (up to 50lbs), standing and walking, stooping and pushing.
