Construction Manager - West Region

Job Description

Reporting directly to the West Region Manager of Site Design and Construction will be responsible for overseeing the overall coordination, management and implementation of site development and construction in the West Region.

Schedule

Review - (Critical path consideration, milestones properly identified, etc...)

Stay on budget

Helping to meet revenue milestones/forecast

Subcontractor pricing in accordance with MCSA - where applicable

Reviewing subcontractor pricing to ensure scope not pre-negotiated is priced properly and they have attempted to get best possible pricing (i.e. competitive quotes for big ticket items)

Construction Managers/ Construction Management Oversight

CM's will report directly to the PM responsible for the project they are assigned to and will be responsible for the civil/site development component of the project. This role to include overseeing third party CM's when we are obligated to have CM's on-site whenever construction is taking place or it makes sense logistically (complex spec and heavy civil deployment). Plan would be to develop several CM's in each territory (T6, T7 and T8).

Develop a Construction Manager manual that would be the guide for CM best practices that ensure consistency in Construction Management throughout the West region.

Provide SME support to PM's including;

Civil training
- Lessons learned

SOW/Subcontracts

Ordering Site Component Equipment

Drawing/Submittal review

Customer Meeting Support

Construction Quality Management / Control

Ensure construction quality plans are developed (project specific) and are being implemented.

Additional

Preferred Skills

In-depth understanding of the construction industry.

Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations.

Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel and Projects, and CCS.

Experience managing contractors and coordinating multi-site construction projects

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and with internal and external customers.

Skilled at solving conflict between different project members and staff.

Outstanding negotiation, organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership skills.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to effectively speak, communicate and present information to customers, clients, tenants, employees of the organization and management.

Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively in the reading of blueprints and contract documents.

Certification in 30-hour OSHA construction course.

Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
- Preferred

Valid driver's license

Basic Requirements

Bachelor's degree preferred in construction management, construction science, engineering, architecture, or related field from an accredited university and 7+ years of experience

OR 10+ years of experience as a construction manager or in a similar position in construction management

Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contracts
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
