Job Description

CNC Machine Operator operates, and assists in the set up of one or more multi-axis computer numerical control (CNC) milling machines to mill, cut, shape, drill, or tap surfaces of metallic work pieces to specifications on a repetitive production basis. Day-to
- Day duties include but not limited to: Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position. Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Flexible to work 2nd shift (2:30 pm to 11pm) Advanced positions also available.

Job Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 lb. parts and other items from floor to waist on a frequent basis while protecting lifted items from damage. Must be able to stand for several consecutive hours without rest, with frequent bending and reaching. Must be able to tolerate a hot work environment. Must be able to walk within and between areas frequently and climb stairs occasionally. Must be able to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions. Must be able to retain instructions sufficient to perform repeat tasks successfully and with minimal supervision.
