The Branch Manager is a leadership position overseeing one branch. The Branch Manager is ultimately responsible for the Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Customer Experience of the residential and small commercial solar installation projects that are completed by the branch. Additionally, the Branch Manager is responsible for organizing, motivating, and leading the branch operations team. The Branch Manager will be accountable for key performance metrics.
Identify training needs and constantly communicate with team members of areas of improvement.
Having at least a weekly meeting with team members to address strengths and weaknesses and collectively find solutions to improve operations.
Oversee all aspects of the installation process: communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and customers.
Having a safety meeting once a week, safety toolbox talk.
Respond to Email, phone calls and, voicemail promptly.
Making sure the office facilities are organized and clean.
Review future jobs to make changes if needed for a design that way a job does not get held back and gets installed properly. Work closely with the design team.
Manage inventory effectively by forecasting future material needed and keeping track of consumables and parts being used by team members.
Making sure that all team members have the appropriate materials and tools to perform their job successfully and avoid interruptions because of parts missing, etc.
Conduct safety and quality audits.
Understanding internal processes and chain of command.
Recruitment & Onboarding new employees and working closely with traveling teams.
Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly.
Keeping up with code changes and requirements by meeting with different AHJ, and inspectors.
Maintaining a good ethical work environment and address any issues promptly.
Be financially responsible (credit card reconciliations, spending)
Reaching out to different team members in different departments to find an answer and solution to the problem at hand.
Follow company policies and demonstrate professionalism by example
Identifying team members' talents and developing those talents.
Review Netsuite (CRM) and make sure that jobs with loose ends get closed and updated.
Ensure that every member of the branch team receives the proper safety training and equipment applicable to their position.
Ensure that "Best Practices" are being consistently applied throughout the branch operations.
Flexibility and willingness to "wear many hats" is required. Depending on branch size the Branch Operations Manager will need the ability to actively support the following: performing site evaluations, assisting in permitting, project scheduling, supporting installations, performing warehousing functions, and completing service calls.
Work closely with the Director of Operations to provide accurate installation forecasts and branch performance reporting.
Work to ensure that we are delivering an excellent customer experience and escalate customer concerns as necessary.
