Application Security Engineer

Application Security Engineer Chesterfield, Missouri Contract to Hire Product.
Application Security Engineer Work on and secure internal and external products with a security focus. Work closely with peers in a cross-functional team to solve problems, evolve standards and procedures, and improve the corporate product and application security posture. This is an evolving area and a primary focus of this role will execute and maintain a security review program. Responsibilities ndash Experience in application security technologies and processes such as API Security, OWASP web application security best practices, threat and vulnerability scanning analysis, web application firewalls Experience working within the application security domain Experience with software integration support Experience designing, developing enforcing application security controls, standards and procedures Developing security metrics and guidance Strong communication and collaboration Understanding of network protocols and security concepts Passion for problem-solving and moving forward to project completion Conducting Application Product Security Testing Facilitate bug intake and remediation processing Identity security exposure and develop mitigation processes Subject matter expert for application and product security solutions Integration of security concepts into DevOps SDLC including security architecture and threat modeling

Requirements

- At least 2 years experience with a programming language, especially C.Net)Experience with application penetration testing Experience with security code assessments Demonstrated understanding of protecting public APIs Understanding of orchestration tools (such as Kubernetes, Docker, Chef, etc.) Understanding and experience working with industry-standard cybersecurity frameworks (such as NIST CSF, HIPAA Security Rule, CIS Benchmarks, HITRUST, etc.) Bachelorrsquos degree in Cybersecurity or Computer Science or equivalent work experience in the IT field Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and organization Highly motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment Comfortable working in a fast-paced and demanding setting Contact Shagun Sachdeva at
