A 5-Part Video Series on “The Architecture of Artificial Intelligence”

[/vc_column_text] [vc_column_text el_class=”topfeed-summary-list”]

  • Part 1 explores how AI is helping architects during what is often the first stage of a design process – collecting site information.
  • Part 2 explores how AI is helping architects and designers make decisions and even generate entire design proposals.
  • Part 3 explores how AI combined with Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality is being used to change how architect, client and users can engage with a design.
  • Part 4 explores how AI is helping develop a new breed to builders, the robot craftsmen.

Artificial intelligence for social good: Big tech spins a new narrative

[/vc_column_text] [vc_column_text el_class=”topfeed-summary-list”]

  • New York — Two of the opening keynotes at the Artificial Intelligence Conference, hosted byO’Reilly Media, highlighted the corporate efforts by a couple of well-established technology companies to use artificial intelligence for social good.
  • And Microsoft Corp.’s Jennifer Marsman talked about the company’s efforts to use machine learning, the internet of things and new networking ideas to reduce world hunger.
  • They are part of a growing collection of tech companies investing in projects that use artificial intelligence for social good.
  • Microsoft Research also has staked a claim in the artificial intelligence for social good movement.
  • Instead, it is the connectivity — it’s getting data from the actual devices into the cloud where we can do something useful with it, said Marsman, who is part of Microsoft’s AI for Earth Group.

    [/vc_column_text] [vc_column_text el_class=”topfeed-summary-list”]

    • Over the next 15 years, AI will take even more of these types of jobs, according to research firm Autonomouss new report .
    • On the one hand, specialized hardware has increased processing power, making it possible for AI systems to generate outputs in real time.
    • In financial services, AIs impact on jobs is likely to be particularly dire for certain categories of employees.
    • Sokolin projects that by 2030, AI implementation could save U.S.-based financial services companies $1 trillion through productivity gains and reduced head count.
    • In Sokolins view, AI will drive gradual change over the next seven years, and then accelerated change between 2025 and 2030.
